"Yesterday's future, today"

Think William Gibson. Think mirrorshades, leather, neon and the like. Dig out your old Sega Megadrive, spray it silver, and have yourself a merry little cyberdeck. In this world, smaller is most definitely not always better. Have a look at your old Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook and look for inspiration, for there you will find the heart of this game staring back at you.

"The Beginning of the End" is the first in a series of Cyberpunk LRP games set in England in the year 2049.

After the credit crisis of the early 21st century, the corporations have stepped in and taken over running the world. Money has been poured into nanotechnology, cybertechnology, Replicants, full body replacements and the internet. Unimportant things like food, healthcare and security have largely been overlooked.

The cities are safe havens for the rich and their workers, whilst on the outskirts the poor struggle to make a living in the shanty towns that have sprung up. The Dead Zones, the lands between the cities, have become a dangerous place where the law holds no power. The Nomads travel this wasteland in their families carrying their cargo from city to city.
As the crime rate rose due to the global recession, the sensible people moved to those cities to escape the terrors that were being inflicted on a daily basis in the darker corners of the earth.
